For sale is a rare fully original rifle sling for the German K98 Mauser. The sling is 100% complete with all hardware, including end piece (frog), fully functioning buckle and leather slider, and it is completely unaltered since WWII. All seems are complete and original WWII vintage. The very distinct "cross-cross" pattern is not only clearly visible, but deeply impressed into the leather strap. In most K98 slings, this pattern is usually worn down and hardly visible after exposure to the elements on the battlefront and 60 years of post war use. This particular strap has the most crisp pattern I have ever seen. The leather is otherwise smooth and soft from proper storage for over 60 years, and is without any rips or tears. The metal buckle is properly manufacturer marked " D&C " for Dransfeld & Co., Menden. This is one of the less common makers.

The sling appears to have a very faint stampt in the back of the leather that possibly reads "pfa/44" or "pto/44" or something like that. It is very very faint, but clearly a stamp and in the spot w the manufacturer stamping would be located.

The condition of this sling is exceptionally good, and is only showing light wear. It appears to only have been on a rifle that never saw combat.

For sake of good order, this sling is NOT to be confused with post war reproductions or post war altered ones flooding the market. It is GUARANTEED 100% original and produced before 8th May 1945.
