When I bought this set I was told this was the 1847 set but it is not dated anyw to prove that-the silverware in the box have 1847 Rogers Bros on almost all of them -the big knives also have on the warranted 16 DWT--t are 6 smaller knives that seem to have the same design but I cannot find the 1847 on them like most of the other pieces and these say stainless which none of the other pieces say--t are 10 very tiny salt and pepper shakers and on the bottom of these it says Sterling and has the initials G M R-this set contains 18 knives, 9 soup spoons, 6 small teaspoons, 3 tablespoons, 12 dinner forks, 12 dessert forks, 6 salad forks, 21 teaspoons, 1 large flat serving piece, 1 small flat serving piece, 1 gravy ladel, 1 sugar spoon, a big serving fork, 1 butter knife, 1 pickle fork, 1 jelly spoon, and 10 salt and pepper shakers-some of the pieces are very light weight and some are very heavy-most are in good condition with some having tarnished spots on them-the larger knives are the most tarnished of the set--they all have a design on them-the salt and pepper shakers are a little bigger than an inch-the tops unscrew-these are all tarnished --the box is in the worse condition of the set-as you can see it is wooden and scratched in many places and has worn spots-the bottom drawer has two nails sticking out which my husband will fix before
