You are bidding on an All Original Period, 101st Airborne Div. Uniform and Patches and additional information on the Hero who they were given to, this man served at the Battle of the Bulge. I do estate work and I will be listing this collection as well as other fabulous items belonging to this man. This auction group of items includes only those items you see pictured. Uniform Jacket and Pants and Patches and an original photo of the man in his uniform along with his original dog tag, also included is the original copy of a news paper story about him and others,( he is pictured second from left) and one of his society documents along with a letter given to the solders her served in the invasion of Europe. The Ardennes - Battle of the Bulge On 16 December, 1944, The Germans had launched a major offensive at dawn on 16 December, west through the Ardennes Forest, in the lightly held sector of our VII Corps. At that time Shaef's Reserve consisted of the 101 st and 82 nd Airborne Divisions. The 101 st was ordered to the vitally important town of Bastogne which was the key to the German counteroffensive. From Bastogne radiated several roads that were essential to the German juggernaut. read more
