104 pc. STERLING SILVER CHANTILLY FLATWARE SET Gorham Presented is a fine quality 104 piece set of sterling silver flatware in the Chantilly pattern by Gorham Manufacturing Co. This pattern was first made in 1895. This is a very beautiful and elegant pattern. It has been one of Gorham's most popular patterns since it was first manufactured. This set is entirely monogrammed with a lovely script letter F, except for 12 teaspoons, which may have been added to the set. All pieces are hallmarked / stamped on the reverse with the word sterling and Gorham Manufacturing Company's old hallmark and pat. 1895. The knife blades are stamped Stainless, but the handles are sterling, and are fully marked. This set is in good condition. Most of the set could use a little polishing, but we will leave that up to the new owner. T are some minor dents to the tips of some of the knives. Some pieces have minor surface abrasions consistent with age and use. Otherwise t are no repairs, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no other problems. This is a very pretty and elegant set. Included in this set: 12 Knives: 9 inches long. 12 Dinner Forks: 7 1/2 inches long. 12 Lunch Fork: 7 inches long. 16 Teaspoons: 5 3/4 inches long. 12 Small soup or bouillon spoons: 5 inches long. 12 Large soup or gumbo spoons: 6 ¾ inches long. 12 Demitasse spoons: 4 1/8 inches long. 10 Butter Knives: 5 7/8 inches long. 4 Serving Spoons: 8 1/2 inches long. 1 Serving or Meat Fork: 7 1/4 inches long. 1 Small Ladle: 5 inches long. This set comes with an optional, free, bonus box as seen in the photographs. The box is a felt lined wooden box. The box has surface wear but is effective in protecting the set against tarnishing. This box is free, and is not considered to be part of the value of this auction. If you do not want the box let us know and we can reduce shipping fees accordingly.
