VINTAGE 10K Yellow Gold** COUNTY of LOS ANGELES ** ~ Enamel Service Pin ~ With Diamond & Original Box ~ NO RESERVE ~ ITEM: Vintage 10K Gold County of Los Angeles Service Pin SIZE: 1/2" in height; 1/2" in width (highest/ widest points) ~ Total weight is very lig ht at .7 grams ( LESS THAN 1 gram). Please Note: Pictures have been magnified for better viewing. Please refer to measurements above for actual size. Thank you! ITEM DETAILS: This auction features a 10K Gold and enamel County of Los Angeles pin. Although I am not positive, I suspect this was a service award for an employee of the county. The front bears the shape of the county with navy blue enameling in the center. The words, "COUNTY of LOS ANGELES" are at the top and t is a small gemstone set toward the bottom. I did take this pin to a jeweler, and was told that it is a "single cut, 4 point diamond." Since I know next to nothing about diamond terminology, a friend of mine who was with me said that was a nice way of saying "diamond chip." ;) The back bears a push-nut closure (which, by the way is NOT gold -- just a gold- tone ). It is marked on the back, bottom middle with, "10K" and a stylized "L" maker's mark underneath it. This piece comes in what I believe to be the original plastic presentation box, and will go to the new owner in it, as well. CONDITION: Fair - I am considering the age and use of this item when factoring the condition. As this piece is likely older, I would say it rates in Fair condition for the age. T are some minor surface scratches seen, but nothing I would personally consider unusual. I did check the enamel with my loupe, and did spot a few minute (pin-prick) size chips under magnification . As far as I can tell, these are not visible with the naked eye, but I did still want to note it for accuracy. The pin portion on the back has a very MINOR bend, but nothing that interferes with its use. Finally, the box that this piece comes in is just a simple plastic piece. T is some wear seen to it, and the white satin-like material IS a somewhat dirty. With age and use considered, I would still say the pin itself rates in Fair condition overall. AGE/ YEAR MADE: Although exact age is unknown, I do believe this piece is a bit older Hi, Thanks for stopping by to view this auction. ABOUT MY ITEMS

I do my very best to accurately describe the items that I sell, listing their imperfections just as much as their attributes. I always try to note flaws very carefully so t are no surprises when an item is received. I purchase my items from a variety of sources (Estate Sales, Auctions, Second Hand Stores, Etc), and I go on internal instinct and a certain amount of "learned" experience, as well. After 4 years on eBay, I have become quite good at evaluating costume jewelry. Please know, though, that I am NOT an expert in any given category . The items I sell are nearly always older and/ or used, and will likely show evidence of this. Being human, I occasionally may miss something. Please know, too, that this is never done intentionally. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION FULLY & CAREFULLY! I believe that the detailed description, along with the pictures (which I often pay extra for), will help provide a better understanding of what is being offered. If you still have questions (or if you see something that I have missed), please email me and I will be happy to help you. On that same note, I will now be more cautious about feedback ratings. I reserve the right to remove a bid placed from an eBayer whom I feel abuses the feedback system (i.e. - excessive negative and/or neutral feedback received AND/OR left), or appears to consistently bid and then not pay. I have never monitored this in the past, but I feel now I must h...
