Hello.Thank you for viewing this auction. For sale is this scrap 10K yellow necklace that weighs 18.9 grams. This necklace is strictly for scrap . It has damage. Here's the background of this piece. last week I assisted a woman with her baby in a stroller crossing a very broad, dangerous boulevard in Flushing, Queens, NY. This young mother seemed to be unaware of cars being too aggressive while inching their way forward to make hard rights - with this young mom with a small baby struggling to push her stroller across the road. I shielded and assisted them across the road safely.At the very next corner as I went to cross the next street I glanced down and spotted this piece in the middle of the road! It was glistening golden yellow in the sun. I snatched it up! I brought it home, rinsed it off and had it examined with a magnifier. This necklace has been exposed to the elements - sun and rain, it has been run over by cars; it's scraped up, it has been cleaned extremely well. It is yellow gold. It is stamped 'Made in Italy' and '417 GS' - this is a European mark indicating it is made of 10K gold. The 'GS' from my understanding (and based on research) is the maker's mark! It is not 'gold over silver' - or gold shell - this scrap necklace was tested. It was cleaned and scrubbed clean with Brosso and then tested with 10K nitric acid solution.
