A lovely set of plates, an bit of a mystery too. 7-1/4" square with detailed corners and great hand painted Cherry Blossom decoration in pinks and greens on white, gold edge. Great condition, minimal face wear, gold trim does show moderate wear. T are no rim chips at all, one base edge has a small chip, no cracks or hairlines. Very fine art work, not signed, overall lovely with great color and finish. The marks are interesting. Underglaze "D&Co" underlined Delinieres & Co mark 2, ca 1879-1893 which would be great all by itself. ALSO marked with the rarely seen red overglaze decorating mark "T&V China France", Tressemann & Vogt mark 13, ca.1907-1919. Clearly the periods do not overlap, so t is a mystery Both great names and these are great plates, simply a most unusual marking, and the two companies were in production during both periods.
