are eleven rare Northwest Coast - Alaskan - Native art books for one single bid! I have had these awesome reference books for several years now, and it is time to trim down my library. Don't miss your chance to add these great books to your library! 1. "Lost and Found Traditions: Native American Art 1965-1985" by Ralpoh T. Coe 288 pages, over 400 color photos. Excellent reference for any Native American art collection. 2. "Kwakiutl Art" by Audrey Hawthorn 272 pages, over 430 photographs, excellent reference guide for Kwakiutl art 3. "Alaska Native Arts and Crafts" by Alaska Geographic Features essays on Aleut, Alutiiq, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Eyak, Yup'ik, Inupiaq, Cup'ig and Athabascan art. Special articles on Chilkat Blankets, Tlingit poles and Masks. Great book! 4. "Cultures of the North Pacific Coast" by Phillip Drucker This great book is filled with info on tribes from California to Yakutat, Alaska. It is especially useful for the rare reference pictures and descriptions it contians of Hupa, Yurok, Karok and Chumash carvings. A great reference. 5. "The Wolf and the Raven - Totem Poles of Southeastern Alaska" by Viola Garfield and Linn A. Forrest This classic book is in like-new condition and is a very thorough refernce guide to all of the totem poles in parks and public displays in Sotheast Alaska. T is a discussion for each pole that is very in depth. 6. "A Wealth of Thought: Franz Boaz on Native American Art" by Franz Boaz and edited by Aldona Jonaitis This rare book is an ex-library. It is a nin-depth look inbto all Native Amrican artforms presented in the form of the late Franz Boas' personal notes and journals. It has detailed descriptions of the various components of totem poles, chilkat blankets, robes, silverwork, and even the face paints used by the various clans of NWC tribes. 7. "Looking at Totem Poles" by Hillary Stewart This excellent reference book is in like-new condition and has hundreds of illustrations detailing individual poles from Washington State to Alaska. Excellent book. 8. "The Vanishing Culture of the Totem Pole Region" by Robert James Williams This interesting and RARE little book was written by an Okanagan Indian in 1971 and was published in a very limited run in Walla Walla, Washington. It really exemplifies what the general concensus was regarding Native culture in that time period. Interesting book. 9. "Pathfinders in the North Pacific" by Marius Barbeau This rare book is ex-library and details the story of the first fur traders to the Pacific Northwest and how the stampede for Native art from the Northwest region became fever-pitch. Excellent refernce guide. 10. "An Introduction to The Native Art of Alaska" by The Anchorage Historical and Fine Arts Museum This 84 page book had an extremely limited run and was published in 1972. It is chock full pictures and info on several specific pieces in the museums collection- again, an excellent refernce! 11. "Chilkoot Pass - Then and Now" by Archie Satterfield This is an intersting book on the early movement of non-Natives into the Klukwan, Deishu, Dyea and Haines areas. It has some interesting insights into the lives of Tlingit peoples as "packers" during the Gold Rush.
