This is one of a complete set of five (see Photo #2). SailorMoon dolls from the movie Sailor Moon-R (Romance). You are bidding only on the item in photo #1 (Photos #2 to #5 relate to information and other Sailor Moon items I am selling this Holiday and is not included in this sale) . PRODUCT HISTORY I purchased this in San Francisco's Japan Center (Japanese Mall). They only had one. Got it home and put it in a dark closet in an air-conditioned, non-smoking house with no pets. BACKGROUND ON SAILOR MOON DOLL TYPES I AM SELLING IN OTHER AUCTIONS (SEE PHOTO #4). Information about Sailor Moon Doll versions is provided below for the sets I am selling (see photo #4 with numbering of 1 to 9 representing versions/types 1 to 9). The following is provided to help you identify some of the different type of dolls, as I know it can get confusing with all the Sailor Moon dolls out there. But I'll limit my discussion to my 9 versions. Refer to Photo #4 with numbering of 1 to 9 for the discussion on the versions as follows: 1) Version 1 is the 1997 Irwin release of five 17” Sailor Moon dolls featuring a large cuppi style head, shiny gold trim on the collar of the sailor uniform, and a spherical gold broach. No doll stand. This is more rare in the US than the 17” version 2. I think this version may have been originally targeted for Canada. 2) Version 2 is the 2000 Irwin release of five 17” Sailor Moon dolls featuring a barbie type body and head for the US market. The doll has 2 shiny silver trim on the collar of the sailor uniform, and a moon crescent on the broach. No doll stand. 17” dolls are produced in smaller numbers than the 11.5” dolls. 3) Version 3 is the 1995 Bandai release of five 11.5” Sailor Moon dolls featuring a barbie type body and head for the US market. The doll has plain white thread as trim on the collar of the sailor uniform, a shiny brass button as the broach. No doll stand. This is the most common version of the dolls produced for the US market. 4) Version 4 is the 1995 Irwin release of five 11.5” Sailor Moon dolls featuring a barbie type body and head for the US market. The doll has very shiny skirt and collar, and shiny gold trim on the skirt and the collar of the sailor uniform, but only a painted button for the broach. The wand is small and the eyes are a little closer together than version 3. Has a white doll stand. Version 4 is a nicer doll than Version 3 (which also does not have a doll stand), though both these versions show version 3 doll pictures on the back panel. This is more rare than version 3. This set complements set Version 5 (same style face and white doll stand). 5) Version 5 is the 1997 Irwin release of seven 11.5” Sailor Moon dolls with Luna key chain and 4 dolls without the key chain (that I know of).
