An unusually wide (12.5 cm), old, and heavy woomera, of hard wood. Beautiful tooling marks on face, smooth surface on back. Possibly mulga wood, one of best we have seen. Resin at handle, intact peg held in place by kangaroo sinew. A couple of naturally occurring occlusions. Old auction or inventory label. This is the sort of woomera one sees senior men carrying across their shoulders in first contact photos,. Clearly a weapon with both utilitarian and ceremonial purpose.
