12 Enameled Sterling Silver J Tostrup Dessert Spoons Vintage 1952 Norway These twelve (12), multi-colored enameled, gold wash over sterling silver, dessert spoons are hallmarked "Sterling- J. Tostrup - Norway " plus 2 other hallmarks. J. Tostrup, a Norwegian silver and goldsmith, was well known for both his beautiful 20 th Century household articles, like these spoons, and for lovely jewelry.These twelve small dessert spoons are in a storage box which is marked John Stamnæss, Gullsmed (goldsmith in Norwegian), Aalesund. The cloth lined box measures 6 ½ x 5 ¼ x 1 ¼ inches.These elegant vintage dessert spoons from Norway have been in my possession since 1952 so they are 55 years old.Two of the spoons (the yellow and aqua ones) have lost about half of their enamel and one (the white one) has lost a dot of enamel at the bottom. The last photo shows a close up of 4 spoons: the yellow & aqua (not perfect) and a red & green one (perfect). The rest of the spoons are in very good condition. Some loss of gold wash due to use and polishing over the years. None of the dessert spoons have any dents or have been repaired.The spoons have a lovely pineapple design on the handle and the enamel is on the front side of the spoon only.
