Nice 12-piece matching set of knives and 3-tine forks dating to probably the late 19c. Featuring bone handles and pewter inlaid design for reinforcement at the bolster, the knives and forks have full tang construction (extends the length of the cutlery to the butt) which gives them strength and good balance. Five (5) of the six knives are marked American Cutlery Co. with keystone logo, a recognized maker of American cutlery - the sixth is not, but is an exact match to the other knives. The forks are not marked, which is common. The forks measure 7 3/8", the knives 9 3/8", with a 5 5/8" blade. The pewter inlay is nicely flush mounted into the handles. As you can see in one of the pictures, 3 of the knives and 1 fork have minor cracks, but the handles are very solid nonetheless. T is no rust or pitting in this set and the finish and feel is very smooth. Some discoloration which is to be expected can be seen in the pictures. I have not cleaned the set in any way; a light buffing with fine steel wool would no doubt bring out more shine and luster. The box fits the cutlery nicely, but does not have a lid. All my items are antique, old, primitive or vintage. Condition and wear from use should be expected. Please review the description and pictures and ask any questions. I appreciate your interest.
