Offered for your consideration are this 12 matching engraved goblets by Libbey from the American Brilliant Period. They have no chips or cracks and retain their original lips- no repairs. Each stands approx. 6-5/8" tall and has a bowl width of 3-1/2". The motif is engraved flowers with leaves/stems/vines on the base of the bowl and the foot of the glass. The bowl has an optic effect. Each glass is signed "Libbey" in the polished pontil. I believe this pattern to be Libbey's #546 and as such, is a "choice" pattern according to Bill and Louise Boggess in their "Collecting American Brilliant Cut Glass 1876-1916". The pitcher that I believe matches this pattern can be seen on page 167. This is a beautiful set and to find 12 matching large goblets is exceptional. I envisioned using these for lemonade on hot summer days but they have sat unused for years in my cupboard so now it's time for someone to actually enjoy them.
Thanks to a knowledgeable ebayer who shared this info with me- the stem shape is #1029 and the engraving is known as pattern #0160. This information is found in a 1910 Libbey catalogue, though mine had been stamped with the 1919-30 trademark. The goblets on auction are also stamped with the 1919-1930 trademark. Please ignore the glare on the following photos-
