A dozen tintype children - some mats, tax stamp, ID 1) 2-1/4 x 3-3/8" child (a boy I'd guess) stands with arm on chair - with bonnet, bowtie and sash his humiliation is complete ! 2) 1-1/2 x 2" - Carrie Bell Miller adopts a rigid seated pose pushing her chin down onto her neck in an expression of apprehension or dread - - image has CdV mat from which tin has separated 3) 1-7/8 x 3-1/4" Young boy is seated on posing chair - image has CdV mat from which tin has separated 4) 2-1/2 x 3-1/2" Young boy stands, resting hand on studio flower stand, he may be sporting small flower bunch below right lapel 5) 2 x 3-1/4" Child is seated in chair - plate shows two crimps and could stand a session in a flatening vise 6) 2-1/4 x 3-1/2" Young girl in posing chair - there are crimps on the plate 7) 2-5/8 x 4" Seated young boy gazes off camera left 8) 2-3/8 x 3-3/8" Young boy seated some distance from camera - don't know if this was an effort at artfulness or an attempt to show off studio props - mat back is labeled "M. J. Kahr" 9) 3-1/4 x 4-1/4" Young boy poses with hand on chair - image shows shadow of earlier oval mat - preserver is poorly crimped on plate edge - back shows 3- cent Civil War tax stamp 10) 2-3/8 x 3-5/8" Young boy poses in chair with arm on table 11) 2-1/2 x 3-5/8" Young boy poses with arm on chair 12) 2-1/4 x 3-1/2"
