Battleship for Portugal, 1912 - 1:1200 by Nimburg Shipyard Portugal had a small navy and no particular need for a larger one, but in February and March 1911 Armstrong produced two designs for coast defense battleships. These ships were slow and not very compelling. Armstrong later produced two more designs, 702 and 708, which were balanced designs for small dreadnoughts of 19,750 and 19,500 tons, respectively. Design 702 carried 10-12"/45 guns and Design 708 carried 8-13.5"/45. The model of Design 702 has a wood hull hollowed out, weighted with No. 9 BB shot, and sealed. Painted except for the brass upperworks. Full data about the ship's characteristics are laser printed and tightly secured onto the bottom of the model. True 1:1200 scale manufactured by Nimburg Shipyard. Item is in excellent condition, comes from a smoke free home and I always combine shipping. I expect payment within three days of invoice, thank you.
