TWELVE PIECES FOR ONE PRICE 18th CENTURY CHINESE LOWESTOFTFAMILLE ROSEEXPORT CHINAHAND PAINTED PORCELAINPLATESI WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE Being offered in this sale is a scarce SET OF TWELVE hand painted "Chinese Lowestoft" plates that date to the late 18th or possibly early 19th century. They are part of a small collection of 18th and early 19th century Chinese porcelain that I recently acquired from a private local estate. All of the pieces in the collection are early export china as opposed to the later 19th and 20th pieces more commonly offered on Ebay. One of the pieces in the collection has the remnants of an old paper label on the bottom indicating it was sold at one point by Elinor Gordon Anitques. Ms Gordon is a well known and respected dealer, and author, on the subject of ORIENTAL LOWESTOFT. The 12 plates offered in this sale measure 9 3/8" in diameter. The condition of the set in general is very good particularly when you consider they have survived being together as a set for well over 200 years. Three of the plates have no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. One has a tiny chip off the back edge of the outer rim, two have a small restored chip on the rim, one has a restored chip on the outer edge, one has a one short tight vertical hairline off the rim which has an old staple on the back, one has short hairlines that have read more
