This is an original insect scientific drawing by E. H. Froeschner. I was fortunate enough to acquire a collection of these at an estate auction of some materials from her Falls Church, Virginia, home. It is done in carbon dust and ink. I will unconditionally guarantee this to be an original drawing by E. H. Froeschner. This is lot #13. It is a signed illustration, of a Dichytu, or Physalochida Africa?. This is a large example, with a plastic protective sheet. Overall dimensions are about 6" by 10". A particularly nice, large example, one of the best of the group. The small numbers on the white squares are simply for my use in keeping track of which one is which, the numbers are not attached or written on the illustration. These look very nice when properly framed, a nice gift for the entomologist. Elise Herbold Froeschner was a medical and biological illustrator for the Department of Entomology, the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. Her husband was Dr. Richard C. Froeschner, a noted Research Entomolgist for the Smithsonian Institution. Most of these illustrations ended up in books and reference manuals. I am selling several of these drawings currently, please see my other items for sale. I have sold a few of these over the years and have always received great feedback. Please ask questions read more
