14 very nice collectible thimbles. Various types and composition including Sterling silver, plastic, glass, porcelain, porcelain on metal, brass and steel. From left to right: One gold colored metal Christmas thimble with an enamel coating. Hand painted Christmas wreath on one side and bow with "1974" on the other. In very good condition. One metal and enamel thimble with Betsy Ross sewing the flag on one side and "Bicentennial 1976" on the other. Strangely enough it is marked "Holland" on the inside of the cap. Some tarnishing on the top of the cap and inside, not sure of the metal type. One bicentennial etched glass thimble. Etched eagle with shield on one side and "1776 1976" on the other. In excellent condition. One ceramic 1984 election thimble. Top has hand painted embossed star on the top (probably referring to Texas). "Election '84 Year" hand painted on one side, "1984" and an image of a donkey and elephant on the other. Artist signed on the inside "Tasia". In excellent condition with some sticky left from a piece of tape. (should come of easily). One very nice carosel brass thimble. Outer carouselcaroselcarousel part turns nicely and appears to be made of pewter but I am not sure. Interior of cap is marked "Spain". One sterling silver ornately decorated thimble. Applied pieces of silver in the shape of stylized flowers and stems adorne the outside with applied stripes of silver on the bottom. Obviously hand made and hammered. Inside is marked "Sterling, Igual, llPA" and "Mexico". One sterling silver and abalone thimble. Very nice inlaid strips of abalone shell around the thimble. "Hecho En Mexico" on the inside. Excellent thimble from around 1980. One antique sterling silver thimble with ornately embossed front, back and cap. Wonderful thimble in excellent condition, Marked "Siam, Sterling" on the inside. Probably from the late 1800s to early 1900s. One embossed metal thimble with a painted bird on the side, composition, date and maker unknown. In good used condition. One Mt. Vernon gilt over steel bicentennial thimble with applied "1776, 1976" medallion. In very good condition, marked "Vernon" on the outside. One hand blown glass thimble with a unicorn head on the cap. Looks like the tip of the horn has broken off. Two plastic advertising thimbles. Both were made as advertisements and are marked "Valley Roofing Co., Complete Roofing Services" in red. One normal old metal #10 thimble in good used condition. An older and common thimble from the first part of the 1900s. Great group of thimbles! See pictures for further details and condition.
