Printed in Naples, Italy in 1487 by Christian Preller of Bavaria who printed in Naples from 1487 to 1498; Preller who primarily printed Liturgical pieces and music also did printing in Latin amid the Hebrew printing enclave in Naples, hence this piece from the Catholic Latin Vulgate. A Genuine Original 523 year old Incunabula Illuminated and Rubricated Bible Leaf Incunabula From Samuel II In The Holy Bible. Printed in central double columns In Latin with surrounding commentary. Illumination and rubrication. On fine heavy rag-linen paper. Printed on both sides. A bright, crisp, clean leaf with only a few very small chips. This Bible Leaf measures: 12-1/8" x 8 3/4" or 30.5cm x 22.2cm. Incunabulum , or in its plural form " incunabula" , is a book, primarily a book of Holy Scripture in Latin or Hebrew that was printed in Europe before 1501. Today we refer to all such books or leafs in the plural form "Incunabula". The famed Guttenberg Bible was printed in 1455.
