A very handsome *triple signed* Gents Vintage 1944 *GRUEN PRECISION* 21 Jewel 335 calibre wristwatch in *14CT FANCY SOLID GOLD CASE * *ARTICULATED LUGS & DIAMOND DIAL!* This piece is in fine original condition, running strong and ready to wear having just been serviced. Case: The superb solid 14ct gold case is fully signed inside and out. This is one of the more desireable case designs with articulated lugs; the lugs are of stylish angular form that are hinged at the watch head and so can move as shown. This is a good sized case with a diameter of 23.5mm excluding the winding crown. The winding crown is the original plated one . This piece is the genuine article; all present and complete and running well. The case measures approx. 23.5mm diameter excluding the crown and from lug to lug it measures approx. 48mm. The inside back is marked ; CASED & TIMED IN U.S.A.BYGRUENWATCH COWADSWORTH14K GOLDL232878335 558 The case has no initials, monograms or engravings or inscriptions of any kind. There are some light surface marks commensurate with its age but no personal inscriptions, repairs or alterations; please see the many images . A really nice stylish piece in superb condition throughout. The watch comes fitted with what looks to be the original gold plated expandable bracelet strap. This is a perfect colour match to the case. The watch uses has standard 16mm spring bar lugs so if the new owner prefers I can offer a choice of leather watch strap instead. Dial: The dial on this piece is in completely original condition and has not been refinished. This shows light honest ageing as shown. It has a silvered finish with applied silver batons and silver dauphin hands with Diamond markers in silver rings at the 9, 12 and 3 positions. The lens is the original shaped acrylic with some superficial surface marks. GRUEN PRECISION21 VERI-THIN The movement is the 335 calibre movement with 21 jewels and gold centre wheel . It is again fully signed for Gruen . GRUENCINCINNATIU.S.A. PRECISION 21 JEWELS VERI-THIN PATENTED53572 335 The model number dates this piece to around 1944. This piece is currently running strong and keeping excellent time having been professionally serviced. This watch will come in a brand new fitted watch box.
