I absolutely LOVE it when these little enamel brooches/ pins come in with our estate parcels and I get to show them off! This one is a perfect specimen of a pansy--the colors are perfect with the purple, yellow, cream and even the brown that usually appears in the center of a real pansy. The artist must have had some pansies right next to him/her when enameling this brooch. 5 "3-D" petals on this flower, just like on a real pansy. Obviously, it was hand made. Check out the back, the way the clasp becomes the "stem" so you can see it from the front. How pretty is THAT! And the piece de resistance is that amazingly WHITE AND CLEAN little old mine cut diamond in the center. It's approximately 16 points, (measured with a gauge without removing it to weigh it), and it's set up high in six prongs, like a little queen on its throne in the center of the flower. I just LOVE this piece. These look totally awesome on the lapel of a dark blazer or coat. The brooch measures 3/4" long (without including the pin or stem) and 3/4" wide. The back is hallmarked 14K. What a beautiful holiday gift this would make for an antique jewelry collector. T IS NO RESERVE ON THIS AUCTION!!
