Terpsichore is the Muse of Dance. Her emblem is the Lyre. There are nine Greek Muses. They are spirits who inspire the creation of literature and the arts. Cameos of Greek and Roman Mythology are very sought after. Cameos of the Muses (other than the three graces) are very scarce. This beautiful 14k white gold filigree ring, showcases a carved cameo of Terpsichore- the muse of dance. The cameo is bezel set, surrounded by a white and black enamel border. This is a medium large ring. If you are interested in this ring, don’t wait too long. It may be a long wait, before another ring comes along that represents the symbol of dance. It might be of interest to you also if you play the harp or lyre. The ring is Edwardian made during the beginning of the 1900s. It is stamped 14k. The black enamel and white enamel hearts emphasize the color of the cameo. The shell cameo carving is unworn and and in pristine condition. For those of you who are watching her, I originally photographed her before she had a bath. Well, she was a very dirty muse. All she needed was a dip in pearl cleaner and Viola! see photo 1. I wish I would have taken care of that sooner. The cameo measures approx 5/8”(15mm) by ½”(12mm)The ring measures a little over 3/4” long by 5/8” (16m) wideIt is approx a size 6 1/2 Satisfaction Guaranteed or your Money Back!
