This pin is so amazing! It is probably the most pristine pin from this era that I have ever had the pleasure to have. This beautiful lapel has a border of luminescent pearls, two sparkling faceteddiamonds and is 14k gold. It is solid and heavy with the weight of gold and the enameling is highly crafted. The reverse hardware is a pin catch with a spinner lock that works perfectly. The back is engraved with the following: BL, LGB, Mary Forbes, April 10, 1938. Gold prices are at the highest right now than they have been in decades! Indiana Asbury officially opened its doors to women in 1867, but not without great uproar from the male students. The first women students at Indiana Asbury were looking for ways to make friends and find support and encouragement for their academic pursuits. They were reviled by their teachers, taunted by their classmates, and ignored by their girlhood friends who did the "right" thing and attended conservatories for girls. It took these brave pioneers three years to found Kappa Alpha Theta, the first Greek-letter Fraternity for women. I attempt to describe all pieces to the best of my abilities and with the upmost honesty. This is also why I make such an effort to provide clear and precise photos. Because of this, I do not accept returns as all sales are final. Payment must be received via Paypal within read more
