At Herki'MinersPlace we don't just close a sale, we open a Friendship This Auction The five double terminated Herkimer Diamond crystals in this auction measure 14mm each and have a total weight of 27.5 carats. They are a mix of *our B+ to A- Grade , 85% to 90% perfect and all sparkling water clear. Each of these has small imperfections, two have small area's of clear Matrix markings, one has clear Striation indentations, all have a small Inclusion . Five water clear crystals to add to your collection or a great size to craft into jewelry, at an average weight of over five carats each! *Our B Grade to our AAA Grades are listed below and further information about how we grade our crystals may be found in our eBay store, an example is that our B Grade could be another dealers A Grade or our A may be another's AA Grade. NOTE: The pictures shown in all our auctions are photos of exactly what is being sold, not a "representative example", meaning you are going to get something that looks kinda like what you see. It's time consuming to take pictures of each listing, but when you are bidding on our Herkimers we feel you should see the exact items that are being sold. All our Herkimer Diamonds are genuine Herkimer County New York quartz crystals Herkimers Diamonds are a rare form of quartz, the only quartz crystals to form with eighteen facets and both terminations. They are known worldwide as many of them have a brilliant clarity not found elsew, this makes them highly prized by collectors, many of whom feel their collection is not complete without a few of these amazing gems. T are imitation or "Herkimer type" crystals found in other countries, mostly very flat or tabular. We have yet to see, in any of these other quartz crystals, the true form and beauty of real Herkimer county crystals. Many of these beautiful crystals were mined by my family in the 1960's from what was called the Middleville Diamond mine, back when Al Schrader owned the property, the rest of the Herkimers are being mined by us each summer. Some of the old time miners might remember me (Andy) as a skinny teen that swung a wicked 12-pound sledgehammer. We moved back into the Herkimer area in 2003, selling on eBay has turned into a full time proposition, we plan on mining and selling Herkimers until I'm too old to swing a sledgehammer. Please email us with anything you are not sure about, before you bid. Size and weight information 25.5 millimeters equals one inch We hope this helps, no matter whose auctions you bid on, and have fun bidding! *Our Herkimer Grading & Pricing We are listing our top four grades below as various dealers, those who do explain their grades, may have different standards (as is their right) for their listings. T is no set standard for Herkimer Diamonds, such as t is for carbon diamonds, we wish to be very clear just what *our grades mean. As Pair, Bridge, Cluster and Twin crystals are rarer than single crystals (especially with any degree of clarity) our pricing for those is higher, please refer to our eBay store page called 'AAA to C Grade by the Carat Pricing' for a fuller description. *Our AAA Grade single crystals Perfect, no flaws, internal or on the facets; no discoloration, any particles or inclusions to be found. The true Herkimer term is "Perfect to the eye", we have dropped that expression as we rarely see that used in auctions any longer. When we grade our Herkimer's we use a 2x magnifier under a 100 watt bulb, if we can find a flaw that way we then look for it without the magnifier, should we still see it knowing w it is we then grade it AA, if we can't see it then it becomes our AAA.
