Historically below-deck quarters have been dark and damp places. Portholes allow for crew and passengers to be water and air-tight protected in stormy weather, and allow them much needed fresh ocean air and views of the sea.Crafted from lightweight iron with a rich dark finish, this porthole window features a fully functioning porthole with authentic looking rivets around the outside. It measures 15" in diameter with the window measuring just under 10". We have had customers hang them on their walls or easily convert them into hanging picture frames. We even heard from a contractor who told us that, with some expert fabrication, he actually installed them into the wall of a restaurant to create a window to the outside.
