Blue Star Model Company offers kit # BSM15002 German Jagdpanzer 38T Early-Mid-War Production Version . This kit is made of the former Blue Star Kit # BSM15001. The difference is that this kit now only includes parts to make the mid-war version. This Early-Mid War Hetzer kit represents over two years of research and efforts using the latest state of the art computer design and stereolithography for production of scale and accurate masters. Each kit is expertly cast in resin capturing all the details of the original master. The use of Stereolithography ensures a good fit to parts making for a trouble free assembly. Newly revised 1 piece upper hull casting with integrated engine deck eliminates flexing and difficulties in attaching engine deck. This kit is designed as a static (non-RC, non-operational) resin kit and is perhaps the most detailed 1/16th scale kit currently available of the most detailed and accurate models of this famous WWII Tank Destroyer. Blue Star Models has faithfully reproduced the early-mid production cast drivers visor port, a super detailed turned aluminium Pak 39/L48 main gun with threaded barrel end (no muzzle cap), early style cut down gun mantlet, early style rear idler wheels and accurate drive sprockets with inner bracing/webbing , 26 bolt pattern Road Wheels with inner bolt details, Super detailed remote MG-34 with or without stock. Accurate commanders scissors periscope with postionable swing arm. Accurate "foundry cast" texture on mantlets and "rolled steel" textures on all flat armor plate surfaces. Other details on this model include adjustable suspension arms, main gun elevates and traverses, MG-34 with optional stock and adjustable commanders periscope, 2 large sheets of photoetch parts including details such as the sliding rear air intake cover/screen, 6 piece side armor skirts, 2 style of tool boxes (perforated and solid), front and rear fenders, AFV tool hold downs and periscope guards just to name but a little of the details. Oh, and did we mention the individual track links? 210 individual resin track links included in each kit. Adjustable rear idler wheel helps get the correct tension and sag. Decals include markings in both red with white outline numerals and solid black numerals allowing you to model vehicles from both the battalion (Abtielung) staff section and any of the company vehicles. (Hetzer battalions had 3 companies of tanks). National markings include 3 style of national crosses and we've even thrown in 3 vehicle "nicknames" painted by Hetzer crewmen. Each HETZER kit comes with a fully illustrated step by step assembly instructions, and etch instructions with easy to follow "exploded" diagrams drawn by Mr. Willy Peeters, noted military aviation artist and the mastermind behind Kendal Model Companies (KMC) wonderful resin products as well as former chief graphic artist for Verlinden Productions. So you know you are getting the best in both etch and etch instructions. These kits are hand made to order and are of a limited run production. As with most resin kits, mold life typically determines the quantity of castings produced. When these molds burn out - that will be the end of production for this kit, so if a large scale Hetzer is in your future build plans, I would encourage you to get it sooner rather than later. As mentioned, each Blue Star Hetzer is hand made resulting in a high level of detail, fit and finish of these kits,. Rough castings are finished to a level that requires only minimal clean up before assembly. Because of the attention we give each order and kit, allow 1-2 weeks for delivery . We try to fill orders as quickly as we can and on a "first in - first out" basis but production can get bogged down at times causing a longer than normal wait. if we can get them out sooner, we certainly will!
