This doll from France is so beautiful. The head is marked on one side Steiner and on the other- Bourgoim and on the rim is back it says Sie C 1. She has blue glass lever eyes that work perfectly. I see no damage on her face and even the ear ring holes are perfect. She is closed mouth and absolutely gorgeous. The pictures do not do her justice. The body is original and appears in good condition with straight wrists and a slight bump on her rear end. One finger has a tiny paint chip.The varnish has probably darken a bit with age.The thighs may have had a repair as they are repainted. I can't tell if there is a repair but since there is repaint on the thighs I assume one or both were repaired. The outfit is suppose to be original. It surely looks original and fits correctly. Unfortunately moths have eaten a few small holes in the wool dress and cape. I think the shoes came with her as did the pin on the dress. The wig is a quality mohair wig .Her carboard pate fell apart so we replaced the pate . The hat matches the outfit. She also has a lovely shell purse that didn't make the pictures. It has a chain and opens. Looks great and has no damage. If you like originality this is the doll for you. She books for well over 7500 in such original condition. Most French compo bodies are in bad condition but this one is better than most.
