This auction is for an all-metal 16:1 planetary gearbox. It's new old stock and has never seen use, but doesn't come in any original packaging. The gearbox measures 1 9/16" diameter, 1 3/4" long and has a 1/2" diameter by 2 1/4" long output shaft, double faced. The input has a 5/8" bored hole that accepts a 3/8" 48 pitch 15 tooth gear. Comes pre-greased and includes 3/8" drive gear, which has a 1/8" bore. This gearbox is all metal for a reason- it can transmit an intensive amount of torque. An 1/8" input is large enough to transmit the torque you need- it's basic physics. If you had a gear ratio of 2:1, your input would need half the shaft strength of the output to produce the given torque at the output, simply because your input is generating half the torque but spinning twice as fast as the output. In the case of this gearbox, there's a big gear reduction and a small input shaft that's designed to spin really fast. Drive side has 2 unthreaded holes for mounting, spaced 1 1/8" center to center. Output side has 4 threaded holes spaced 1 3/8" center to center. This is a great item for RC projects and has the capability to gear high speed brushless motors for electric bikes.
