16" THUMBELINA by IDEAL 1961 MARKED ON NECK: IDEAL TOY CORP. 0TT-16 ORIGINAL MECHANISM & WOODEN KNOB ****************************** DESCRIPTION OF DOLL This Thumbelina doll is the rare, 16" doll. She has a full head of HONEY blonde hair, it is soft and shiny, with no plugs missing, that I could see. Her vinyl is without bites or ink marks and she has all of her fingers and toes present and accounted for. She has pink cheeks without any rubs, and her mouth, her eyebrows, and eyelashes still have all their original color. Her pink cloth body is clean with no odors, open seams, or patches. The wire that holds her neck on has poked through the cloth material like so many of the Thumbelinas have, but it isn't a reason for concern, just wanted to mention it. Her ORIGINAL mechanism and wooden knob work well and her little head turns like a newborn. She comes from a smoke/pet free home. ************************************************************ DESCRIPTION OF HER OUTFIT She is wearing a gorgeous new, very full, white lace dress, with long sleeves, that is attached to a pink underdress that has a ruffle around the bottom with white lace trim. The lace dress has a large lace ruffle around the bottom, there is also a white lace ruffle that is around the bodice (front and back of the dress). There is a pink satin ribbon and a rose in the middle and it has streamers that hang down to the hem of the dress. She also has on pink rhumba panties that have two rows of white lace on the back and lace around each leg. Her bonnet is just darling and matches the dress, it also has a band of pink satin ribbon with pink satin roses attached all the way around to the pink ribbon ties on each side of her head. The brim of the bonnet is trimmed with a row of ruffled white lace that frames her face. She has on new white lace ruffled stretch socks and white plastic doll shoes. I added a bracelet that spells out Thumbelina and it has pink beads on it. I have sold over 1000 of these dolls and only five have stopped enroute. The mechanism is 50 years old and consists of a music box and waggle bar to move the head. There will be more stopping now as they have reached their 50th birthday .......they have done their job well. You can find replacements selling on ebay if your doll's mechanism stops working.
