160 German photos (also cigarette/tobacco cards) of the 1936 Olympic Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. They were supposed to be pasted (but never were) into the cigarette album book entitled "Olympia 1936" (Vol. I)--you've seen it before with blue covers. 160 photos/cards is pretty close (over 90%) to a complete set (175 cards). This particular set served three purposes: a) documenting the winter olympics b) looking back to previous olympic games (all the way back to 1896) c) delivering a preview of the upcoming summer olympic games in Berlin, Germany. Now you know why some of the photos show sports that aren't considered winter sports. The photos/cards are in very good condition with a handful of small tears, sporadic creases, and a few worn corners: quite normal signs of age. A few of the cards are in color. Was most of the cards measure 3 x 4 3/4 inches, over a dozen of them measure 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches; and they all definitely look sharper than my pictures suggest. Please, look at my other German 1936 olympic items currently listed. No doubles!
