1628 Mercator/Hondius/Jansson Austria Archiducatus 5.5 x 7.5 inch (14 x 19 cm) BW copper-plate engraved map from a 1628 edition of Mercator's ATLAS MINOR that also has Hondius' name on the title page along the with notation that the atlas was published in Amsterdam by "Ioannis Ianssonii". Condition is VG+. Decorative cartouche, modern (professional) color. Latin text pertaining to Austria verso Austria between 47 and 49 degrees north and from the town of Passau in the west to somewhat below Vienna (Wien) in the east ('Presburg'). Dozens of Place names. "3-D" style topography. Parts of surrounding areas shown: 'Stiria Pars', 'Moraviae Pars', 'Bohemiae Pars' and a bit of what would be modern-day Hungary Magnificent detail.
