This auction is for the TEN remaining Psalter Leaves from a 1638 KJV Folio Cambridge Bible. In case you are wondering, a psalter are verses of the psalms set to music. These are usually very close to the verses of the original psalm, but usually changed -a little- when sung or set to music. Imagine owning these genuine Psalter pages that are 370 years old from this Bible. How many people can display such an item, especially at these prices ? Consider how meaningful it would be to own one of your favorite or cherished passages from this rare item and have them displayed in your home. When judged against other prices for comparable items, these pages are offered very cheaply to encourage multiple purchases and to help individuals select various special Scripture references and/or passages that they wish to own. (Deut. 6:6-9) This listing does NOT include the dated title page shown in our photos. This photo is only meant to act as some confirmation as to the stated printing date. The first photo photo shows a sample of a psalter page with a musical chart. The second photo shows the psalter for the 23rd Psalm. Our third photo shows a standard page of the psalm prayer verses and shows the last page being Psalm 150:6. This page is shown as a typical illustration of the pages being offered with this listing without a musical chart. Our last two photos show the dated title page with the name of the printer and the printing date on them as on the other dated pages with this source and a close-up is shown to give each purchaser a better look at the printers names and printing date. On the available list below, we tell you if a listed page has musical charts. On these Psalter pages, the last few pages have curls at the lower right-hand corner of the page and a few minor tears in the margin. Large damage or anything that touches the text will be noted below. Think what a treasure these pages would be to a choir director or piano teacher, etc. You will also get a color scan of the dated Psalter title page shown in this listing with your Bible leaf to confirm the printing date for your items. The color scan of the dated title page will be emailed to you prior to mailing the pages. Using this method, the purchaser can make as many copies of the scan as they need (especially helpful with multiple page orders). We have only 10 leaves remaining from this Psalter. So these items will be sold as a package. These pages are in good shape, but some are better than others. Several pages have small tears and some slight worming along the margin of the pages. The printing is sharp and clear, especially considering that each one is 370 years old. They are light brown in color and in most cases get slightly darker at the edges of the page. A few of these pages have some text loss (noted on the list below), but you will be aware of any problems prior to your purchase. Your 1638 KJV Folio Cambridge Bible Psalter leaves will be shipped in a stiff photo mailer to protect the page from damage during shipment. These Bible psalter leaves are in good condition and measure approximately 9" x 14". With your order, you will receive an email of the actual color scan of the dated title page from this Bible as confirmation of the age of the selected passages. We have begun to email this scan to allow the purchaser to make as many copies of the scan as they need, rather than trying to depend on the one that we had been including with the mailing.
