This auction is for the listed and shown premium passage or title from this large 1638 KJV Pulpit Bible. This page -as well as the other pages from this large 1638 KJV Pulpit Bible- has red-ruled margins around the text and margin notes. This should be clearly seen within our various photos of the listed page. This selected premium page is Luke Chapter 2 -known as the Birth of Christ. In these passages, it reads "And Joseph also went up from Galilee .... to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child......" The entire page covers the Scriptural text from Luke 1:67-2:33 on the front of the page and to Luke 2:34-3:21a on the rear portion of the page. Please note this page has some slight worming damage along the margin as some of our other passages have. These pages are offered very cheaply (much less than other sites) to encourage multiple purchases and to help individuals select various Scripture references and/or passages that they wish own. (Deut. 6:6-9) This listing does NOT include any of the dated title pages shown. They are only used to give the prospective purchasers some assurance of the authenticity of our listed page. The first photo shows the title page or highlighted premium passage from this Bible. Next, t is a photo of the entire side of the page with the section of highlighted or referenced text. Any noted damage to the page with be photographed for your closer inspection. Due to the condition of several pages, some "worming" will be noted to several of the pages that we will be listing. In each case, the worming will be photographed with a close-up shot so the area can be more thoroughly viewed by a purchaser. The last few photos will show the name of the printer, his location and the printing date. The General title page for the Old Testament is undated, but has extensive decorative designs covering the page. If you complete the purchase of this listed page, you will also get a color scan of these dated title pages with your Bible leaf to confirm the printing date for your items. We have begun sending these actual color scans of the dated title pages rather than sending them in the mail. With this method, the purchasers can print other copies of the scans for their use with the purchases. These pages are in good shape, but some are better than others. Several pages have small tears and some discoloration. A few pages may be torn or spotted, repaired, etc. But in each listing, we will be careful to show the suspect area and give a close-up view of any noted damage to the margin, notes and/or text of the page. The printing is sharp and clear, especially considering that each one is 370 years old. They are light brown in color and in some cases get lighter towards the middle of the page. These pages have little or no text loss, but in some cases the printed notes along the edges show wear. Your 1638 KJV Pulpit Bible page will be shipped in a large photo mailer envelope made with stiff cardboard to protect the page from damage during shipment. These Bible leaves are in good condition and measure approximately 9" x 14" (Note the rulers in the photos to give a perspective to the size). With your order, you will receive an email of the actual color scan of the dated title pages from this Bible as confirmation of the age of the selected passages. We have begun to email this scan to allow the purchaser to make as many copies of the scan as they need, rather than trying to depend on the one that we had been including with the mailing. This ...
