Wellman (c) H4 Stone Meteorite Individual This is a cute little 167 gram individual 3/4 specimen from the Wellman (c) Texas fall site. T is a cut and polished face, however, 57 years of weathering has slightly weatd the polished face. Some fine sand paper would clean it up great, but I have chose to keep it as is. Five distinctly different meteorites were found in the Terry County area near Wellman. Approximently 40 kg of material has been recovered in the area. This is a great American meteorite that is typical of the weatd and rusty stones found across the Great Plains area. This piece is part of the Eugene Cornelius Collection. This specimen has the ID number of 2.7 painted on the surface. The specimen is quite weatd but does have a touch of fusion crust remaining on it. The specimen comes with the original hand written collection ID card, with the find information on it. This lot also has a Certificate of Authenticty signed by both the Cornelius' son John Cornelius as well as myself. Cornelius was a contemporary meteorite hunter with H.O. Stockwell, Nininger, and Monnig. Corneilus did quite a bit of hunting in the Wellman area, and he traded many of his finds to build his modest collection with both Stockwell and Nininger.
