1p, 7.5 x 12`, Salem (MA), 26 November 1697, with partial colony wax seal. Court document releasing Sarah and John Poor as administrators (executors) of the estate of John Poor, having fulfilled their duties in that position. The judge in this case is Bartholomew Gedney, an Associate Judge in the witch trials five years earlier (May - October 1692). Consignor believes the decedent in this court document was also a victim of the hysteria, but he does not show in any lists of those against whom legal action was taken (although there were certainly accusations which did not result in court cases, particularly toward the end of the hysteria, and Mr. Poor may have been in that group).
