Bell & Howell JAN 16mm Film Projector Outfit including Remote Speaker ! NOTE: Only the original amplifier is missing! Here’s a chance to get a well-built, Bell & Howell 16mm film projector (original amplifier not included), – projector case cover, original power cord, extra exciter and pilot lamps, lens case cap and matching remote speaker for use in large auditoriums! JAN projectors (Joint Army-Navy) were specially made for the US Dept. of Defense, meeting the superior mechanical and electrical requirements of the armed forces. They are extremely well-built and heavy – the projector with cover weighs about 50 pounds and the remote speaker another 26 pounds, for a total of over 75 pounds with packing materials. My Dad, a 16mm film buff, bought this used in 1985 with about 770 hours on it, and after totally cleaning and lubricating it, during the next 15 years put 236 more hours of running time on the machine. Recently, I put another hour on it running two films to make sure EVERYTHING works – all lamps, sound through both speakers, rewind mode, switches, adjustments (framing, height,etc). Everything checked out and the projector now has 1014 original hours on it. Interesting notes included show hour intervals when Dad replaced lamps thru the years!
