DESCRIPTION: Outstanding footage of China and Sri Lanka. This is a full 7” reel of Kodak film. This is from a set of reels labelled 1-5, this is Reel 3. The 5 reels are Home Movies from a World Cruise that began in October of 1931 from San Francisco. This would be from either late 1931 or early 1932. Date code on the film is a O+ which dates it to 1931. This is outstanding footage of streets and people of China and Sri Lanka. It starts with about 160 feet of film featuring Sri Lanka with a motor car journey from Colombo to Kandy with stops at some very interesting places. The remaining portion of the 400 feet of film is in China with exceptional streets scenes and the Chinese people who navigate them. Great scenes from Tientsin (today Tientjin) Railroad Station with what looks like military at the station. Order of the photos taken are from top left to bottom left then top right to bottom right.
