17” Adorable antique Kestner Doll, mold 167- ca1890s Up for auction is rare cabinet size Kestner doll- mold 167. She is adorable in a cotton naval outfit and vinyl shoes. Excellent bisque head on a fully ball jointed composition body. She has brown sleep eyes with beautifully painted upper and lower lashes. Multi-feathered brows, cute fat double chin, accented nostrils and eye corners. Open mouth with 4 upper teeth. She has a human hair wig and original Kestner plaster pate that I have removed just before taking pictures inside her head.Back of head incised: Made in B Germany 6 167 High quality bisque with gorgeous modeling, there are 2 small flakes/wigpulls on her right ear and a strawline above left ear from top rim. I ran my finger nail over it and did not feel as a hairline. It does not look like a hairline to me. But, I don’t know for sure as the plaster inside the head did not let the light show through. So, please love her as is. Sleep eyes work well.The composition body is in great condition with minor wear at joints and surface that expected for the age, left ring finger rebuilt.
