These appliques are phenomenal. They have a classic arts & crafts look in texture, color and design and date to the 1920s.The black and white edging trim has an almost lacey look. The center square has an embroidered flower with a 3 dimensional embroidered center. Each motif measures an impressive 4" wide by 3" at its highest point. They are tacked to a stiff net backing and appear to have never been used. I bought this trim in Paris. YOU ARE BIDDING ON 17 APPLIQUES.
For the past 25 years, I have been a designer of one of a kind wearable art. My trademark was to integrate antique and vintage textiles with luxurious new fabrics. I frequently traveled to Europe in my quest for the most beautiful embroideries, appliques and trims. My art coats, jackets and gowns graced many red carpet award shows, weddings, charity balls and the like. Using brilliantly deft sewers our creations sold for as much as $10,000. I have now semi retired but I still have 1000s of design elements. I have a vast collection of appliques, motifs, laces, buttons, buckles, silk ribbon work rosettes, fabric yardage, beads and baubles. I hope to sell them on to another creative soul who might have a vision for them. I am also amidst an abundance of clutter, my personal collection of Victoriana and kitch, which also needs to be downsized. This could take years! I hope you will visit me often as I will attempt to add things daily. I know I have things that will work for millinery, doll clothes, clothing design, handbags, fabric design reference and lamp shades among many more.
