17" F&B All Original 1939 CHARLIE McCARTHY+ Pin & Book! Description One of the most outstanding CHARLIE McCARTHY ventriloquist figures we’ve ever seen, dapper 17” Charlie has a card dated 1939 and noted as purchased from “Younker’s Des Moines”. He is in very excellent condition complete and all-original including his pull-string (interior rubber-band needs to be replaced to make mouth close). Charlie wears his original pin with “EDGAR BERGEN’S CHARLIE McCARTHY *An EFFANBEE Play-Product*” around his portrait, plus his super-rare “ Charlie McCarthy // His Book // by Edgar Bergen ” with “A Lesson in Ventriloquism”, photos and a “dialogue” script for “Charlie as a Boy Scout”. Charlie’s head, hands & feet have perfect original paint and finish with no paint touch-ups or repainting, and original attached metal ‘monocle’ with string (a few super-skinny craze lines on face - noticeable only up very close). Tuxedo has a wool cut-away jacket with tails and satin lapels, matching pants, waffle-pique shirt-front, pique vest, stiffened collar and satin bow-tie (front of tux slightly yet evenly faded).
