This is the Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments, and Other Rites and Ceremonies of The Church, According to the use of the Church of England: Together with the Psalter and Psalms of David, pointed as they are to be sung or said in Churches. Together with A Companion to the Altar. Printed in London by John Baskett, Printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty. Printed in MDCCXXVI (1726) during the reign of King George I. The book has been beautifully and professionally rebound in high quality fine calf leather. It has new plain cream endpapers. The Companion to the Altar has a fine woodcut illustration opposite the title page. It was printed for Edmund Parker at the Bible and Crown in Lombard Street and is dated 1726. The Psalms of David was printed by E.Janeway for the Company of Stationers in 1724. It measures 8.75" x 5.25" x 2" thick (220mm. x 135mm. x 50mm.) and weighs 743g. unpacked. As the book has been rebound, the binding is tight and is in excellent, immaculate order, with no damage to the leather, just the odd tiny mark. The text block is securely bound in and there is no looseness, loose or detached pages. There is some general light soiling and age toning throughout the book, to be expected, but overall the pages are in very good, undamaged condition.
