The book is bound in full brown Leather with a darker inset to both covers. The spine has five raised bands with gilt decorations and a leather title label. Very faint name/date written on the front end page with a previous owner’s name and date of 1733 written on the 2 nd blank front end page. Slight loss of leather at both outer spine ends, the corners are rubbed and the covers have random scuffs and scratches. The front gutter has a few small areas where the leather has split, but the binding is still very solid. Internally the pages are Very Good with gorgeous engravings. There is an “older” tiny insect hole running through the bottom page margin of most of the pages. A wonderful early printing of an epic classic ~ that would be a fine addition to anyone’s collection!
