First edition. Marbled card binding. 454pp. Engraved cartouche on title page, one head-piece and one end-piece, one engraved intial. Text in French. 12mo (6in x 4.75in / 15cm x 10cm). Weighs approximately 0.8kg with packaging. CONDITION: Good to Very Good (see table below for details). Fading and rubbing to paper boards. Crease to rear board. Moderate foxing and sunning throughout, increasing towards the end, but affecting margins only in the main. Some pages creased in top corner. Spine missing most of paper cover and and title label. Lacks blank endpapers (or bound without). Front and back boards attached with original binding tape. Private collection library bookplate label on front pastedown. Previous owner's name erased from title page. Collated and complete. *Photo(s) given of actual book. CONTENTS: A scarce copy of Claude Louis Hector de Villars' autobiographical work, published after his death.
