[Original 274 year old books, 2 volumes complete] Fascinating correspondence between Ormonde and King Charles I, Lord John Byron (1599-1652) great, great uncle of the poet, Lord Digby, Secretary Nichols and many others taken from original letters written during the Civil War. The editor, Mr. Carte claims that he saved some of Cromwell’s letters which were “destined” to “the flames”. Several letters are published in the original French.
