Adlai Stevenson was an American politician and diplomat, noted for his intellectual demeanor, eloquent public speaking, and promotion of liberal causes in the Democratic Party. He served as the 31st Governor of Illinois, and received the Democratic Party's nomination for president in 1952 President Kennedy appointed Stevenson as the Ambassador to the United Nations; he served from 1961 to 1965. He died on July 14, 1965 in London after suffering a heart attack. Adlai Stevenson plate is 9" in diameter. There are no cracks but a small rim chip, which are expected for a plate dated 1740. We do not jave additional paperwork on the plate only label on the back. We bought the plate because we love the colors. We paid a lot more than our listed price, we originally had it priced at 595.00. We have over 300 delft plates and it's time to start selling some. If you love the plate it's a good buy at 150 (no reserve). The date and the colorful polychrome give this plate it's value.
