Up for auction is one very old antique Butter Stamp Press. Dated 1769. The word UNDU appears on both sides of the press. Has an Arrowed Heart on one side and a sheath of wheat pattern. Really a beautiful piece of work, and an excellent design. A long time ago this was shellacked or varnished. Some crystallizing in it. Two little blips on the edge which each have their own photo. Very light piece. Has worm holes all through, probably chestnut. 1 3/4" from front face to top of handle. In conjunction with the hole through the top of the handle, t is a tiny wooden plug on the front of the piece that exactly matches the design. A real piece of workmanship and a great piece of history. Please contact with anyquestions before you bid.
