You are bidding on a very nice Hummel/Goebel figurine titled "The Photographer". This is number 178, TMK 3, Closed Edition with a Stylized Bee from 1960. The figurine is aprox 5" tall and was originally modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger. The base has the number 178 incised, a stylized bee trademark, and the inscription "by W. Goebel". The other markings you see on the photo are taped on notes from the original buyer. The notes show it was purchased by Dean M in Germany, in 1960, for Rustie. Please check the pictures as this is an exceptional quality figurine with no chips, no repairs, no cracks, and no crazing. The Robert Miller price guide lists the value between $450 and $500. I double box all my glassware and pottery items for shipping and also use USPS Priority Mail to try to eliminate shipping damage.
