Antique, very high quality and attractive craftsman handmade… Alpine regions or Southern Bohemia type… free blown German half post method made clear lead glass larger spirit bottle with its original engraved German tulip type decoration, with its original …but having an old piece of paper over it so "you won't cut yourself"… pontil on the bottom and with it's original crude handmade glass maker's flaws in outstanding perfect original condition and retaining lightest old estate soiling, as found . Northeastern Europe ; Germany , Switzerland or Austria , 1780's, probably earlier. Guaranteed old and original; this is not a fake or reproduction. Actual weight 1 3/4 lbs. 10" tall by 4 3/8" wide by 2 3/4" deep. This would have had a cork in the top. Good base wear. Good rough glass pontil. We found this… beautiful… and of outstanding fine quality … eastern European tulip decorated spirit bottle… in the bottom of a dining room cupboard in a colonial farm near West Pownal, Maine. How does a bottle like this get into an old colonial era Maine farm? These bottles were fitted in wooden traveling boxes in matching sets of nine or twelve and… traveled with a gentleman to hold his spirits.
