This early Colonial Virginia document is in very nice condition and measures 12.25" x 14.75". Has the signature of Virginia Govenor Henry Lee (Lighthorse Harry) father of Robert E. Lee and an impressed wax Seal of Virginia. It inlcudes the survey of the land along the New River in Montgomery County, VA and mentions that it was granted to James Newell. The names of John Preston and George H?aughter are also mentioned. The date at the top (maybe the date of survey) is 1783. The bottom near the signature is dated 1792.
