Volume 1 contains Preface, Introduction, The Hiftory of the Letters faid to have been written by Queen Mary to the Earl of Bothwell, Abftract of Mr Goodall's Arguments, proving the Letters to be fpurious, Examination of French Paris's Confeffion, Queen Mary's Accufation againft the Earls of Murray and Morton, Secret Affociation of the Confederates with Queen Elizabeth etc. Volume 2: Conspiracy for reftoring Murray, Review of the conduct of Queen Mary previous to Lord Darnley's murder, Queen Elizabeth's conduct as to Queen Mary and Postscript addreffed to the Public etc. Plus Appendix. 'We muft believe the Queen to have been of a very warm complexion indeed, to be writing her Love Letter ftark naked in the month of January in Scotland.' 381/422 pages. 5 x 8.25 inches.
